Come out and celebrate Oakville’s Canada Day with your tweens. Come to the Main Stage in Bronte’s Heritage Waterfront Park for performances at 11:15-11:45 and 12:15-12:45.
The Minipops were a huge sensation in the 80s, selling millions of records throughout the world. The albums featured young kids singing the pop hits of the day, and every kid dreamed of being a Minipop! K-tel relaunched the Minipops as the Minipop Kids in 2004.
Over the last decade, the group has sold over 350,000 albums with multiple gold records. The Minipop Kids are the #1 selling music kids brand in Canada. The latest release topped the iTune Kids Charts and was the #1 selling album at Walmart, even beating out One Direction and Lady Gaga.
Six months after the last release, Minipop Kids still have the #1 selling single on iTunes Kids!
This year, auditions were held live and broadcast by Breakfast Television, and covered by MTV. Hundreds of people came to try and become a Minipop! Two members performing with the Minipop Kids on July 1st in Oakville, are Oakville locals. Olivia and YouTube sensation Johnny Orlando.
