Puppeteers with Frog and Kangaroo Puppets The Rag & Bone Puppet Theatre will thrill both old and young.

The Rag & Bone Puppet Theatre will thrill both old and young.

The whole family will be captivated by this eccentric, moving and very funny story of a grandfather’s unlikely trip to the Arctic with Roo, his opinionated dog. It features live music and puppets, twenty knitted penguins and, of course, a talking dog.

Sponsored in part by Paradiso; tickets for the performances are free and can be picked up at the entrance to the Black Box Theatre one-hour prior to the start of each performance. Spaces are limited. Pick up your wristband early to avoid disappointment. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

You can rent adult and children skates, skating aids and helmets for $5 an hour. The park’s tobogganing hills are in great shape. Bronte’s Play Barn is fun for younger kids. It’s a giant jungle gym with slides, nets, and tunnels. Walking park trails and looking for deer and coyote tracks is a popular family activity. This is also the time of year when male deer (bucks) drop their antlers. They are hard to find but you may get lucky.
