Thirty Sheridan Graduates nominated 44 times for Canadian Screen Awards

Thirty Sheridan graduates have received 44 nominations for Canadian Screen Awards this year. The Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs) celebrate Canadian productions and talent in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes in Canadian film, television and digital media.

The CSAs will be presented at a series of week-long events, culminating in the final live broadcast gala on March 1 in Toronto. This year’s alumni nominees represent a variety of Sheridan programs, including advanced television and film, animation, art & art history, bachelor of design (honours), interactive multimedia, journalism, media arts, and music theatre performance. Their graduation years range from 1989 to 2007.

Toronto-based digital agency Secret Location, powered by the work of alumni Ryan Andal and Pietro Gagliano received eight nominations in five categories. Guru Studio, founded by graduate Frank Falcone garnered five nominations. Stephen Barden, Coordinator of Sheridan’s new Bachelor of Film and Television Program is up for Best Achievement in Sound Editing.
