On August 11, 2013, the Oakville Minor Baseball Association (OMBA) was informed that the now-former treasurer Doug Stirling had unilaterally misappropriated a significant amount of money and concealed his actions from the board and all association members. Mr. Stirling had been the treasurer of seven years. Once the OMBA learned of the misappropriations, Mr. Stirling was removed as the OMBA Treasurer and Board Member. Mr. Stirling A criminal complaint has been filed with local law enforcement.

In light of the circumstances, town staff permitted the Oakville OMBA to complete the 2013 season with unpaid permit fees for previously booked fields. The payment for the use of additional facilities by OMBA received in 2013 will be applied to new permits instead of outstanding arrears.
Oakville Town Councillors authorized staff to negotiate repayment terms with OMBA for its outstanding 2013 unpaid permit fees to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Community Services, Town Treasurer, and Town Solicitor. The OMBA is a non-profit organization offering organized baseball programs to approximately 700 youth in Oakville. OMBA is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. They offer 3 levels of baseball programs from recreational ball at the House League level, a higher calibre at the Select level, to competitive teams at the Rep level - for boys and girls from ages 5 to 21.
The Oakville Minor Baseball Association (Baseball Oakville or OMBA) is a member association of the Central Ontario Baseball Association (COBA), the Ontario Baseball Association (Baseball Ontario or OBA) and the Canadian Federation of Amateur Baseball (Baseball Canada or CFAB).
Oakville Minor Baseball Association's Annual General Meeting will be held on October 23 at the Oakville Town Hall.
