Multiple drug, trafficking, gun charges face trio involved in Brant Street exit vehicle rollover

Three people are facing charges related to the January rollover.

Halton police have charged several people in relation to a vehicle rollover that took place at Brant Street in Burlington in January.

Ontario Provincial Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) investigated the collision while Halton police charged three people with drug and weapon offences.

Early morning on January 29, a vehicle rollover located occurred on the westbound QEW off-ramp at Brant Street in Burlington.

Three men and a woman in a Dodge Ram pick-up truck were located on scene having been thrown from the vehicle. All of the occupants were transported to hospital where one of the men was pronounced deceased. A quantity of fentanyl and cocaine, along with a firearm were also located at the scene.

On September 17, Preet Dhami, 25, of Brampton was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), possession of identity documents (two counts) and fail to comply with probation order. Dhami was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Mustafa Ta’amneh, 46, of Mississauga is currently in custody on unrelated charges. On October 25 Ta’amneh was arrested and charged with the following: possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, weapons trafficking, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order and fail to comply – being on a release order. Ta’amneh was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Yesterday, (Oct. 27) Nitish Oberoi, 34, of Brampton was arrested and charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle cause death. Oberoi was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
