Two familiar faces remain at the helm of the Halton Police Board.

At Thursday's meeting, Oakville Councillor Jeff Knoll was acclaimed as the chair, while Ingrid Hann was acclaimed as vice-chair. Both Knoll and Hann have held the positions for several years.

“It’s a great honour to have this position,” Knoll said. “It’s literally the best position to have in terms of being able to have a real impact on the things that we do as a board and what the service does in this community. I promise that I will faithfully execute all of these responsibilities and carry our agenda forward in the coming year.”

Knoll, a local and regional councillor in Oakville since 2000, has been a member of the board since 2012.

Hann was named as the Region’s civilian appointee on the board in 2020. She previously served on the board from 2017-2019 as the provincial appointee.

Hann is an executive consultant with more than 30 years of consulting, corporate and operations experience with mid-sized businesses and large multi-national corporations. Before establishing her consulting practice, she was vice-president human resources for De Beers Canada.

“We have a lot on our agenda,” Knoll said. “I both look forward to it and am slightly awed at the path ahead of us.”
