Oakville woman arrested after stolen van, trailer found in provincial park

An Oakville woman has been arrested and charged as one of three suspects in connection with a stolen property investigation in Georgian Bay Township.

An Oakville woman has been arrested and charged as one of three suspects in connection with a stolen property investigation in Georgian Bay Township. 

At approximately 8:04 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2024, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of suspicious individuals and vehicles within the grounds of Six Mile Lake Provincial Park.

Police say they discovered three suspects, a white Ford van, and an attached U-Haul trailer after the park had been cleared of campers.

This investigation lead to the recovery of an alleged stolen van, trailer, multiple Ontario vehicle license plates, and break-and-enter tools.

Jessica Resendes Miller, 30, of Oakville, Michael McCormick, 42, of Burlington, and Larry Allen Payne, 33, of Ancaster, have each been charged with six counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and one count of possession of break-in instruments. McCormick and Resendes Miller were also charged with failure to comply with an undertaking.

Police say the accused persons were released from custody and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date.
