Police are turning to the public for help as they investigate a carjacking that occurred in rural Halton.
Security or dash cam video is being sought from the Eighth Line and Steeles Avenue area that was recorded Monday, Nov. 4 between 5:30 and 6 p.m.
Police say around 5:45 p.m. that day, the male victim was travelling south on Eighth Line north of Steeles in a Lexus SUV when he was cut off by a black Honda Civic sedan that had been driving behind him.
According to police, the suspect got out of the car, approached the victim’s vehicle, verbally threatened him and demanded he turn over the SUV.
Police say the victim’s SUV was then stolen and driven north on Eighth Line, towards 5 Sideroad.
No weapons were seen and there were no physical injuries.
The suspect is described as male, approximately 20 years old, wearing a face covering.
