Halton's golfers are ready to swing into the sport for the season.
Tyandaga Golf Course has all but sold out of memberships for 2025, selling approximately $350,000 worth of them on the first day of sale.
“People had the option of doing it online through Live and Play (online) or they could come in person on March 3 from 9 to noon,” Tyandaga manager Brad Weake said. “We sold out of all categories in that period.”
The course offers three tiers of memberships, a junior membership runs around $400, weekday adult memberships cost approximately $1,500, and seven day adult memberships are $1,800.
A total of 300 memberships, 200 for juniors and 100 for adults, were available. Weake said there may be two adult memberships left, though the last time he saw the numbers was a few days ago so it’s possible they sold out.
Regular tee times have not been opened up yet, as the course is still drying out and needs some time to get prepared.
“We don’t have an opening date yet,” Weake said. “We track our weather, look at the 14 day forecast, and of course it’s a pretty hilly course. It can take a while for it to dry out in certain areas compared to flatter golf courses. We aim for a mid-April start, but if we can get open earlier, we will.”
Weake said the course usually aims for Masters weekend, around April 12, to open.
“Golfers are itching to get out and play,” he said.
Green Fees for 2025 range from $15.95 for a sunset tee time, valid two hours before sunset, to $51.40 for an adult morning 18-hole round. Cart rates also range from $10.35 to $20.65 depending on the time.
