An Oakville man is among a group of four that has been arrested by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS)
HRPS concluded a drug trafficking investigation earlier this week that led to the seizure of weapons, illegal drugs and thousands in cash, as well as the mentioned four arrests.
This four-month investigation was dubbed "Project Cortex", targeting a trafficking network operating both in Halton region and throughout Hamilton, according to a statement from police.
In February and March this year, officers executed four search warrants at residences in Burlington, Oakville and Grimsby.
As a result, authorities say the following items were seized:
- A loaded Glock 30s handgun with defaced serial number
- A loaded Glock 25 9mm handgun
- Two loaded magazines (hollow point rounds)
- One extended magazine
- 2 boxes of ammunition
- 19.5 kilograms of Cocaine
- 1 kilogram of Fentanyl
- 100 ml of GHB
- 138 oxycodone pills
- 40 clonazepam pills
- 10 grams of crystal meth
- $42,750 Canadian currency
Police have also made four arrests and laid more than 20 charges.
Ahmad Hassan, 34, of Oakville has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (oxycodone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (hydromorphone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (amphetamines)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (clonazepam)
Suber Liban, 25, of Grimsby has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (cocaine)
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (2 counts)
- Tampering with Serial Number
- Possession of Prohibited Device
Sarah Andersen, 43, of Burlington has been charged with:
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (cocaine) three counts
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (crystal meth)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (oxycodone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (clonazepam)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (gamma-hydroxybutyrate)
Duvontaye Gray, 29, of Grimsby has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
