Off-duty officer from Toronto charged after accidentally discharging firearm in Halton

A Toronto off-duty police officer has been charged after inadvertently discharging her firearm in Milton last week.

According to Halton police, on March 13, officers  responded to a report that an off-duty officer had accidentally discharged their police-issued firearm. 

No one was injured.

As a result of the investigation, TPS Constable Alison Cowley faces one count of careless use of a firearm.

She is scheduled to appear in Milton court on April 28.

As the matter is now before the courts, the HRPS will not be providing any further details.
