Overnight fire at Oakville auto dealership deemed suspicious

Oakville's Key Auto catches fire in what is now labelled a suspicious of fire

Oakville Fire is reporting details from a "suspicious" fire early this morning, March 18, 2025, at a local auto dealership.

Early this morning at 3:29 a.m., fire crews were called to a fire at Key Auto used car dealership on Wyecroft Road in Oakville.

When crews arrived on the scene, the saw heavy smoke and coming from the building. Several crews entered the building and battled high temperatures and heavy smoke, but the members of the Oakville Fire Department were able to control the fire.

As of publication, no injuries have been reported due to the fire.

Six fire apparatus and one Command Officer were called to the incident, as well as the Halton Regional Police, Halton Region Paramedics, Oakville Hydro, and Enbridge Gas.

OFD Fire Investigators say that power and gas have been isolated.

Investigators added they have looked at the scene with Halton police to locate the origin and cause of the fire and will notify the Ontario Fire Marshal.

The fire has been deemed suspicious: Fire Operations finished at 5:00 a.m. this morning, with one fire crew remaining on scene to assist the OFD Fire Investigator.

As of this time, the dollar loss is being established with the OFD investigator. There doesn’t appear to be any structural damage to the building, however there was heavy smoke throughout.
